How do I determine my ring size?

Your finger size undergoes changes based on factors such as the time of day, your hydration levels, and the prevailing weather conditions.

  • Make sure to measure the appropriate finger, considering that your dominant hand is typically slightly larger.
  • Rings with broader bands often have a tighter fit.
  • For optimal results, measure your finger size towards the end of the day and when your fingers are warm. Avoid measuring a finger when it is either too cold or too hot, as these extremes can significantly impact the ring size. For instance, cold fingers may result in a size reduction of at least half.
  • It is advisable to refrain from using materials like string or paper for ring size measurement, as these substances can stretch or twist, leading to inaccurate results.
  • Make use of our Ring Size Chart
I’m facing uncertainty about two ring sizes

If you find yourself undecided between two sizes, our suggestion is to opt for the larger of the two.
In cases where your knuckle is larger, take two measurements and choose a size that falls in between. The goal is for the ring to fit comfortably over the knuckle without being excessively loose.

What is Stainless Steel?

Stainless steel is a type of metal alloy that contains at least 10.5% chromium. The chromium in stainless steel forms a thin, protective layer of chromium oxide on the surface of the metal, which makes it highly resistant to tarnish, rust, and corrosion. This unique property of stainless steel makes it a popular choice for jewellery, especially for pieces that are worn regularly and come into contact with moisture, such as rings, bracelets, and necklaces.

Stainless steel jewellery is highly durable and long-lasting, and it can maintain its lustre and shine for years with proper care. It is also hypoallergenic, making it a great option for people with sensitive skin who may have reactions to other types of metal.

What is gold-plated stainless steel and will it last?

When selecting gold-plated jewellery, understanding the materials used in its creation is key. Brass and stainless steel are the most popular base metals for gold-plated jewellery.

Gold-plated stainless steel is much more durable than gold-plated brass jewellery. This is for a variety of reasons.

Stainless steel generally has great corrosion resistance due to the presence of chromium. This chromium layer acts as a protective layer against oxidation. Stainless steel is also stronger and harder than brass. This makes it more resistant to scratches, denting and deformation.

Stainless steel also maintains its colour when exposed to air and moisture. Brass on the other hand tends to lose its colour and develop a greenish tint over time.

Gold plating also adheres more durably and consistently on stainless steel. This is because it is a harder and more corrosion-resistant metal. Gold-plated brass jewellery will wear off over time.
